What's on in the Exhibition Hall

Typewriter Poetry

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Pod P11

Help us create our very own APLIC collaborative poem. Get your creativity flowing and visit the typewriter booth in the exhibition hall anytime during the conference. Take a seat at the typewriter and add your own line to the poem. Be creative, be fun, be innovative. After the conference we will share the poem on the conference website.

Relaxation station

Visit ALS Library Services in booth 5 and receive a ticket to a massage at the relaxation station. Massage therapists will be on hand during breaks on all three days of the exhibition to refresh and energise you with a relaxing short neck, back and shoulder massage. Corporate Headshots

Wednesday 1 August 2018, 12:30pm to 2:30pm, Connect Space

All professionals need a great corporate headshot. Even if it is just for your LinkedIn profile a professional headshot creates the image of yourself that you want to portray to colleagues, your employer and your prospective employers! APLIC offers ALIA members the chance to have a headshot taken by a professional photographer that you can then use for your resume, your online presence or even your next ALIA conference speakers profile. The best part is that you don’t need to leave the conference venue and it is completely free of charge.

Limited opportunities are available and will be offered to the first registered delegates to take up the offer. To sign up for this you need to be an ALIA member, be registered for the conference and email events@alia.org.au to register your name. You must be present at the conference between 12:30pm and 2:30pm on Wednesday 1 August 2018 to have your photo taken. Photos will be emailed directly to you after the conference.

Conference yoga

Wednesday 1 August 2018, 7:30am to 8:30am, Connect Space

Need a break from conference sessions? Start your day with a energising yoga class. Don't forget your towel and water bottle! Sessions are limited so head to the Peter Pal Library Supplier booth 23 for information on joining the class.

First timers' morning tea

Tuesday 31 July 2018, 10:25am to 10:45am, Connect Space

Hosted by Susie Thorpe from OCLC and the APLIC program committee, first time conference attendees are invited to come along to meet other delegates and get some tips on how to make the most of your conference experience.

Passport Game

APLIC 2018 is all about experiencing the Asia-Pacific so here is your chance to show what your know!

Scattered throughout the exhibition you’ll find a series of trivia questions celebrating the spirit of wanderlust. Find all 10 questions and write your answers in the passport form in your satchel. Put your completed passport form in the ballot box located in the Connect Space by Thursday lunch for your chance to win.

There can only be one winner and you’ve got to be in it to win it.

Prize details still to be announced.

The winner will be drawn on Thursday 2 August 2018 and you need to be present to claim the prize.

Please note: information and prizes correct at time of printing.

“CATS” of APLIC - A Tweet-Up and Meet-Up with the ALIA Students and New Graduates Group

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, afternoon tea, Connect Space

Conferences can be daunting for first-timers, but they can also be a good place to make friends and professional allies. #CATSofAPLIC or “Connect Achieve Together Socially” is a way for newcomers and seasoned professionals to meet informally and connect with some amazing GLAMRzons! Keep an eye out for the hashtag #CATSofAPLIC from @ALIANewGrads on Twitter for fun daily activities designed to connect you with fellow delegates in-person and online and to discuss hot topics and ideas from the conference. It is also an opportunity for you to meet representatives of the ALIA Students and New Graduates Group, to learn about how to get involved professionally with ALIA, plus make some new friends and grow your GLAMR network! Follow @ALIANewGrads on Twitter to keep up-to-date with events leading up to APLIC.
